PLEASANT CONDITIONS CONTINUE. Pleasant qonditions prevailed in Ashburton this morning. ’The sun was shining brightly, and thqre was a cool breeze from the east. The maximum, temperature yesterday Avas 73.8 degrees! being registered rather strangely, at 5 o’clock in the afternoon. The minimum temperature last night was 49.1 degrees. The barometer ~ registered 30.09 inches this morning. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the folioAving statement regarding the weather:— An anti-cyclone covers the Dominion but a slight disturbance is developing to the east of the Auckland Peninsula. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Qamaru is as folloAvs:— Sea breezes, freshening on the coast, otherwise Avinds light to moderate and variable. Weather fair to fine and mild. ►Seas slight. ,
