ENEMY ALIEN.
INTERNED AT WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, December 4. The internment of a, Wellington resident of enemy alien nationality was announced by the Attorijey-General (the Hon. G. H. Mason) to-night. This was stated to bo purely a precautionary measure. “The registration of aliens and the restrictions imposed on the movements of enemy aliens under the tvar emergency regulations were in the nature ; of a survey for the purpose of obtaining full information, and did not imply any presumption of disaffection,” said Mr Mason. “As a result of this survey, however, in addition to certain residents of Samoa whose internment in New Zealand had been decided upon, one Wellington resident of enemy alien nationality has also recently been interned. Thy, was a purely precautionary measure, and does not imply that any illegal act has been committed or attempted.” *
