The weather was fine for the New Brighton Trotting Club’s meeting, the track was last, and there was an excellent attendance. The totalisator handled £33,285 10s, compared with £33,305 10s last year. Concluding results: Mace Memorial Handicap, of £4OO, 2.45 class; lb] furlongs—l-2 Great Jewel scr (Berry) 1 ,2-3 Blair Athol 12 2, 3-1 Pot Luck 12 3. Won by two lengths. Time, 2.33 1-5.

The annual fixture of the Ivurow Jockey Club, transferred to Oamaru when the petrol restrictions were imposed, was held oil Saturday in showery weather, but there was not sufficient rain to affect the track, which was firm and fast. The attendance was not large, but it was about 50 per cent, better than was recorded at Kurow last spring, and the totalisator handled £BOB3 10s, against £4033 10s in 1938. Concluding results:—

The second day of the Feilding Jockey Club’s meeting opened in fine weather, but heavy rain developed, and the track from a dead condition became heavy v There was a large attendance. The totalisator handled £20,550, as against £16,951 on the corresponding day last year, and for the meeting £34,834 10s, compared with £43,241 10s. Concluding results:

At the Moonee Valley rf'aces, the following was the result, of the Benefit Handicap, of £250; six furlongs—Magic Circle 7.9 (Williamson) 1, Kanuri 8.10 2, Grand Song 7.1 3. Won by half a head; two lengths between second and third. Time, 1.132. The jockey, 0. Phillips, is going back to India to ride for the Maharaja of Kolhapur.
