MISSIONARY UNION.
PRESBYTERIANS AT MAYFIELD. The monthly meeting of the Mayfield Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union was held yesterday afternoon, when the president (Mrs J. S. Freeman) presided over a good attendance. It was decided to purchase some crockery to be used for church purposes. An invitation was received from the C’arew Union to attend its World Day of Prayer Meeting on February 9. Mrs J. S. Freeman reported on the annual conference, held in Christchurch recently. It was decided to ask Mrs W. W. Avery, of Willowby, to address the next meeting. A bring-and-buy stall in aid of the funds, realised 13s and the Busy Bees’ stall made £1 '6s for their funds. The meeting closed with the Benediction, after which afternoon lea was served. LAGMHOR PRESBYTERIANS MEET. At the monthly meeting of the Lagmhor Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union Mrs Shaw read an interesting missionary lettcg from Miss R.. Thomas, of the Bay of Islands. Miss M. Crosson reported on the annual conference held at Christchurch. A solo was sung by Mrs Shaw. A dainty afternoon ten was served by the hostesses, Mrs Crawford and Miss M. Crosson. The president {Mrs D. D. MacLachlan) occupied the chair.
