YACHT PROM ENGLAND
SAFE ARRIVAL AT AUCKLAND. (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND. November 24. Completing an 11,000-mile voyage from England, the yaw T l-rigged yacht Caplin, manned ihy . Commander R. D. Graham and his daughter Marguerite, arrived at Auckland to-day, IS daj s out from Nukualofa. Commander Graham intends to report to the naval authorities for service, and will probably eoneludo liis voyage hero. Tlio voyage w r as uneventful, hut for 48 hours last week, when she wns hove-to. The route was from England to Madeira, the Atlantic crossing to the West Indies, the Panama Canal and the South Seas. Commander Graham crossed the Atlantic in 1934 single-handed, in a seven-ton yacht, and published experiences. He served in the Navy on the African coast and in Atlantic convoys in the Groat War. The Caplin is named after a Labrador fish, and is specially designed for a long voyage, though only 11 tons and 35 feet overall.
