Naval officials take comfort from the fact that the successful ■ anti-submarine campaign has forced the Nazis to resort to what is believed to be Hferr Hitler’s secret weapon, namely magnetic mines dropped by parachute. r <: It is emphasised that submarine attacks on shipping would be the most successful method if it could be carried out, whereas hundreds of mines will be without victims.
