Mr 0. Ward (postmaster at Ashburton) will resume duties on Monday after his annual leave.
Mr W. H. Amos has been re-elected a vice-president of the South Island Poultry Association.
Mr J. M. Wilkie has been advised that his son, Mr B, S. Wilkie, has passed his final examination in dentistry at the Otago University.
Mr J. Bathgate, representing the Automobile! Association,' Canterbury, attended a meeting of the Peel Forest •Scenic Reserve Board to-day.
Mr George F. Rox, manager of the Great North China Troupe, is spending the weekend in Ashburton, making final arrangements for the company’s forthcoming appearance here.
Major Allan Hildreth, officer commanding the Canterbury and Westland Salvation Army districts, will visit Ashburton this week-end in connection with the anniversary of the local Sunday School.
Mr J. Brown (supervisor of the Telegraph Department at the Ashburton Post Office) has resumed duties after his annual leave. Mr N. Grassman, who was rcllieving, has returned to Christchurch.
Mr J. B. Cullen (president of the Now Zealand Transport Alliance) and Mr Wallace McKie (president of the Canterbury Mail Contractors’ Association) returned from. Wellington to-day after attending the annual meeting of the. Alliance.
