CONDITIONS STILL UNSETTLED. Further vain foil last night in Ashburton and there were a few’ drizzling showers this morning. The sky was still overcast and threatening this afternoon, but the barometer showed a. rising tendency. Nine points of rain fell yesterday and last night. The maximum temperature yesterday was 51.2 degrees and the minimum last night was US.!) degrees. Tlie barometer stood at 29.89 inches. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— Pressure continues to rise slowly over the Dominion and a weak anti-cyclone is centred in the south. The forecast for the east coast of’the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: Winds variable with light to moderate north-easterly to easterly predominating on the coast. Weather becoming fair to fine and milder. Seas slight.
