RUTHLESS SUPPRESSION. SHOOTING OF THE STUDENTS. LONDON, November 22. The Belgrade correspondent of the “New York Times’' says that a neutral observer from (Prague, giving an account of the events in Prague,' said that three . motorised columns of the German -State Police converged on Prague on November 16. All students' dormitories, both men’s and women’s, were broken into at 3 a.m., and without being allowed to dress the occupants, tied together in threes, were dragged away. Students’ homes and lodgings were systematically searched. About 1000 were arrested. Students who resisted, or parents who tried to shield their children, were immediately shot dead and left, or the wounded were? taken, ■without medical attention.

Later in the morning, the. university leoturf rooms were entered. Students and children alike were arrested. Several high schools were raided and hoys and, girls aged 11 to 16 were arrested.

The university clinic was entered and all the patients were expelled. Transport was provided only for those operated on during the previous night. About 8000 prisoners were- taken to the Ruzyn barracks and the Sparta football stadium. They were drenched with cold water and left without food until the evening. Then, before the eves of followstudents, 126 youths, beginning with the president of the students’ association, were shot dead. Next day the remainder were s'ut in trucks to Germany.

All Germans in Prague are now armed.
