AUSTRALIAN TEAM’S TOUR. NEGOTIATIONS REOPENED. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. “Last year produced an interesting season’s cricket when definite progress was registered, and we can look forward to an interesting series, not only of Plunket vShield games, but also to matches with the Australian team which may still make its tour of New Zealand,” said > : Mr D. E. Wanklyn (chairman of the Management Committee), when moving the adoption of the report at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council last evening. Hb said the matter had been held in abeyance on the declaration of war, but negotiations had been reopened and it was hoped the tour would still eventuate.
The following officers wore elected: President, Mr W. R. Fee; Management Committee, Messrs D. E. Wanklyn, H. M. Taylor, J. L. Kerr, J. Ramsdcn and S. G. Lester.
It was agreed that records of players taking 100 wickets or scoring 1000 runs in first-class cricket should be kept in .the annual report with the best batting and bowling performances.
