Britain and Canada have agreed op the financial basis for the Empire air training scheme. It is believed that the British suggestion is that Canada should bear most of the i initial cost, which will he; recouped by pet caput charges on the trainees accepted. Also, to avoid the heavy cost of the pypyisipn of training facilities which AYill he useless after the war, it is proposed that panada should proceed until the spring on a more economic basis than previously envisaged. Use will be made of from 20 to 30 trans-Canadian and from 10 to 15 municipal flying fields, which can he adapted as military aerodromes. The Ottawa correspondent of the “New York Times” understands that Britain is providing aeroplanes and other equipment needed initially. It is expected that Canada will supply moire airmen than Australia, New Zealand, or Britain.
