Four years ago King Georgo V plaifted flax seeds in • a small corner of the Sandringham farm lands. ) Success attended Hie experiment and since then there has been a regular supply of flax from Norfolk to Northern Ireland. King George VI has been enthusiastic in developing this enterprisd, and orders reached Sandringham last week which mean that more -flax is to ho grown on the royal estates to meet the demands arising out of the war. Northern, Irish linen is famous the world over and the King’s flax will materially help Britain’s export trade, which has been called lief fourth line of defence.
