MORE MEN FOR BURNHAM. SEVEN FROM ASHBURTON AREA. Seven men from the Ashburton area will go into camp with the Special Forco at Burnham on November 28, part of a draft of 180 South Island men who have been selected as reinforcements and to fill gaps caused by illness, withdrawals and other causes. All are single men, and their arrival will bring units now at Burnham up to war establishment again. Canterbury is supplying 87 members of the supplementary draft. The draftings from the other areas are: No. 9, 14; No. 11, 49; No. 12, 30. Canterbury’s quotas to the various units are: Rifle Battalion—Signaller 1, clerks 3, riflemen 28, drivers 5, driver mechanics 3. j Machine - gun Battalion Machinegunners 32. Divisional Supply Column —Fitters and turners 2, mechanics 2. Field Ambulance—Stretcher-bearers 6, general duties 4, carpenter 1. Field Hygiene Company—Carpenter 1. The Ashburton men and .their units are: Rifle Battalion. C. R. Harris, Eiffelton. It. W. Withell, Winchmore. C. Taylor, Springburn. L, G. Gardiner, Rakaia. Field Ambulance. T. F. Allwood, Ashburton. W 7. G. Beaven, Ashburton. L. Sharplin, Staveley. Another Enlistment. The enlistment of John William Bruce, of Rakaia, was. registered at Christchurch yesterday, making 14 Ashburton district men who have enlisted outside this area, and a total of 167 enlistments all told.
