MAYFIELD SHOW.

MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Mayfield Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held under the chairmanship of the president (Mr G. H. Lamb). It was decided to write to tho Minister for Transport (the Hon R. Semple) asking him to press for an .amendment of the act dealing with the heavy traffic licences on farmers’ trucks.

Tho new wool ribbons were displayed and it was decided to procure some for the show in March. It was decided to include vegetable classes in the schedule for children 14 and under, for which Mrs F. G. Grcenslade .offered a. special prize. : It was decided.that because of the ravages of the grass grub and tho porina. moth a letter be sent, to the Department of Agriculture asking that increased funds be made available for research work.

Congratulations ware extended to members who had gained successes at tile Metropolitan Show, special mention being made of Mr D. Johnston for his success in the Corriedale classes.

A presentation of a leather-bound dictionary and a cup, saucer and plate was made to Mr R. M. Mulligan, a member, of the committee, who was recently married.
