ASHBURTON STOCK MARKET. VERY LARGE YARDING TO-DAY. ' 'lighter. LINES: VALUES EASIER I With the heaviest yarding for many t weeks, and a general inferiority in quality, the Ashburton stock - market saw an easing of prices for fat sheep to-day. More pens were filled than was the case at the double yarding at Tin- . wald a fortnight ago, and the sale was slow in the early stages. At mid-daj, only a small proportion of the entry had been disposed of. . ... / Most of tho lots consisted of lighter ( - types of sheep than have been coming forward lately, and woolly lines eased in value by 2s to 3s. Up to mid-day the top. price for fat ewes was 28s- 7d for a pen sold on account of P. J. Mowat (Fairton). Wethers made up to 26s lOd Early sales, the sheep being shorn unless otherwise stated were:—
