UNEMPLOYED SEAMEN.
AMERICAN' TRAINING SCHOOLS. (Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) WASHINGTON. November 13.
The Coastguard has ordered the training schools to enroll only seamen who are rendered idle by the neutrality law. It announced that it is establishing a new school, accommodating an additional 1000, as part of tbc Administration’s aid programme resulting from the recent appeal by the National Maritime Union. The schools ivill give recruits 1 food, shelter, clothing nild transportation, also a minimum of 30 dollars cash monthly.
A New York cablegram dated November 0 stated:. A mass meeting c-f 3000 members of the National IMaritimo Union decided to march on W ashington unless President Roosevelt acts immediately to aid seamen rendered idle by the suspension of the transAtlantic service. The Union telegraphed its resolution to Mr Roosevelt.
