SAUSAGE CRISIS.
REAL FRANKFURTERS NOW UNPROCURABLE. It is difficult to buy a genuine fresh Frankfurter sausage anywhere in England. The last one known to have been seen in London was eaten -six months ago. Since the September crisis it has been found either impossible or impracticable to import any more sausages from Frankfurt. You can still have what passes for a Frankfurter—hut it is made in England, Holland, Latvia or even Estonia. They say only a connoisseur can taste the difference. London’s leading importers of Frankfurters said to a “Sunday Express” representative: “TVe xised to import them from Muller’s, in Frankfurt, hundreds of boxes of 50 pairs at a time. You could buy, them for 7d a pair. “To-day if we could get them they would cost you more than Is a pair.’’ The Trocadero Restaurant, TV., said; “TVe can’t supply them any more. The Frankfurters we serve are made in England.’’
