THE RESERVE BANK. THE WEEKLY STATEMENT. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, September 7. The following is a statement of the assets and liabilities of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand as at the close of business on September 4: — LIABILITIES—

Other quotations are: Flour, £l2 10s; bran and pollard 4s sd; potatoes, Tasmananian Brownells, £l9; others £l7 10s; onions, Egyptian and brown £23, Japanese £24, New Zealand £27; American white £3O; maize, yellow, 4s, white 4s ,2d. CLEARING SALE AT HINDS. In spite of the petrol (restrictions, there was a large attendance of buyers from as far distant as Rangiora. to Geraldine at the clearing sale held at Hinds yesterday by Messrs J. Trevor Thomas and Co., under instructions from the Public Trustee- in the Estate of the late Godfrey W. Chisnall. The sale was a good one throughout and full market values were realised. The sheep, which were of a good class, showed the effects of the shortage of feed owing to the ravages of the grass grub.
