THE FIRST LORD
MR CHURCHILL MENTIONED.
EARLY APPOINTMENT PREDICTED GOVERNMENT POLICY SUPPORTED.
(United Press Association —Copyright.) (Received This Day, 12.20 p.m.) ' LONDON, July 4.
“The Daily Mail” says-that the early appointment of Mr Winston Churchill as First Lord of the Admiralty.is certain. His inclusion in this or a similarly important post has been discussed for some time by Ministers, most of whom agree that he would be a valuable asset. All differences are now ended and Mr Churchill is prepared to join the Cabinet and fulfil a national duty, wholeheartedly supporting the policy enunciated by Viscount Halifax. The inclusion of Mr R. A. Eden in the Cabinet is also advocated by some papers.
Mr Churchill was First Lord from 1911 to 1915 and Mr Eden was Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs from 1986 to 1938. '
The»present First Lord is Earl Stanhope.
