LATE SIR EDWARD CHAYTOR.

Veterans of the South African and Great Wars paraded in large numbers at- St. Luke’s Church, Spring Creek, yesterday to pay tribute to one of tlieii distinguished leaders, the late MajorGeneral Sir Edward Chaytor. Members of he Chaytor family and large numbers of local residens atended the memorial service, the church, being inadequate to accommodate the entire congregation. The Bishop of Nelson (the Rt. Rev. W. G. Hilliard) delivered an appropriate address, in the course of which, alluding to the presence of so many of those who served under General Chaytor, he said that nothing finer emerged from war than _ the wonderful spirit of comradeship of the “Diggers.”
