DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS. THE CONCLUDING PHASES. The Tinwald School diamond jubilee celebrations were concluded yesterday. Throughout the week-end large numbers of former pupils attended the services arranged and the functions were highly! successful. Visitors and old pupils were taken for a motor run to Longbeach yesterday morning. Many of the old pupils had not seen Longbeach for 40 years, they were privileged to walk around the estate. A picnic and sports meeting were held in the Domain in the afternooff. The weather was perfect for the function and' an excellent opportfmity was afforded for the renewal of old acquaintances. School Relay—Senior,Girls 1, Junior Boys 2, Junior Girls 3. Ball Held Last Evening. Great success attended the final function of the series, a ball held in the grain store last evening, when over 800 people took part, making a record attendance for a function at Tinwald. The- duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr A. Simpson, a former member of the School Committee. Cook’s Orchestra supplied the music and a number of competitions were conducted. The singing of “Auld Lang Syne'" brought the- ball to a close. The committee in charge of the celebrations earned the warm thanks of those who took part for the comprehensive arrangements made.
