WELLINGTON, March 20. 1 Ten days’ imprisonment was imposed in 'the Magistrate’s ' Court to-day on Phillip Murphy for being intoxicated in charge of a car, and his licence was cancelled for a year. Michael Joseph Gilhooly, aged 34, was fined £5 a,nd his licence tancetled for 18 months for a similar offence. FINE OF £2O IMPOSED. PALMERSTON N., March 20. .Said by the police to be a third offender, Frank Bertie Hewson, a wickerworker,. aged 54, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to being intoxicated whilst in charge? of a car in Himatangi Road on Saturday. The police said a constable at' Foxton Avas telephoned by a motorist, who said the accused Avas driving in an erratic manner. Before the constable left for the scene he received another message that two motorists had detained the accused at Himatangi. The accused Avas found by the constable to he very much intoxicated. His earlier, offences Avere in respect of a motor-cycle in 1924, and a. motor-car in 1926. " . . The Magistrate (Mr H. P.
