CARDS AND DANCE.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY FUNCTION. The annual card evening and dance in connection with the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, was held in the Radiant Hall, and was an even greater success than usual. The ball was specially decorated for the occasion, and thorough arrangements were made by the committee in charge to ensure tile success of the function. The Rfev. Father J. J. O’Donnell was the guest of the cvening. About 350. couples attended tne dance, music for which was supplied by Robson’s Band, Christchurch. Extras were played by Mr R. Dnbourn and tiie masters of ceremonies were Messrs ,T. Young, anil J. Smith. The card prize-winners were Mrs Nish and Mr T. Purcell. Monte Carlos were won by Miss A. Sullivan and Mr F. Schluter mid Mrs E. Reeves and Mr A. Bennison. * A special competition was won by Mrs J. O’Gtfldy.
