COUNTY SCHOOLS’ SPORTS. Foi* the third year in succession, record entries have been received for ; the annual Ashburton County School • athletic sports, stated the secretary (Mr S. W. Gower) this morning. The number of entries this year is 2365, - representing children from 20"" primary schools of all parts, of the County. The total last year was also well over 2000. * .Permission has been received uom the Education Board for all primary schools in the County to be closed next Friday, the day of the sports. As may be expected with so many entries, the committee has been kept- busy for tho last few weeks drawing up the pro-' ■ gramme. The first of the events is" timed to start at 10 a.m.
