Mr Amki announced in the Diet some plans whereby it was hoped that in throe years Japan would be invulnerable against ecomonic sanctions. It is expected "to have by 1942 increases in production over 1938-39 ranging up to 100 per cent. Mr Amki predicted that in three years Japan, Manolmikuo and China, would be self-sustain-ing_in iron, steel, coal, light metals, zinc, fertiliser, rolling stock, automobiles and shipping.
