The Secretary of State, for Foreign Affairs (Viscount Halifax), referring in the House of Lords to the assurances regarding the withdrawal of foreign troops from Spain, said he believed these would bo honoured. “I say quite clearly,” the Foreign Secretary said, “that if the contrary is the case a very serious situation will arise.”
