A RESHUFFLE

PORTFOLIO CHANGES. MR NASH, SOCIAL SECURITY MINISTER. MR WEBB NOW MINISTER FOR LABOUR. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Portfolio changes are announced by the Prime Minister (Mr M. J. Savage). Mr Walter Nash, Minister for Finance and Customs, becomes Minister for Social Security, and will bo relieved of certain portfolios lie now holds. Mr T. Armstrong, relinquishing Labour to Mr P. C. Webb, becomes Minister in charge of Housing and State Advances, portfolios previously held by Mr Nash. Mr H. H. R. Mason relieves Mr Nash of the administration of the Public Trust Office. The portfolios of these four Ministers now are:

Mr Nash--Finanee, Customs, Marketing and Social Security, Stamp Duties, Land and Income Tax, Public Service Superannuation, Government Life Insurance, State Eire Insurance, Census and Statistics.

Mr Armstrong—Housing and State Advances, • Immigration. Mr Mason—Attorney-General, Justice, Prisons, Registrar-General’s Department, Public Trust Office, and Patents, Designs, Trade Marks and Copyright'Office. .

Mr Webb—Labour, Mines, and Printing and stationery departments,. _
