THE WEATHER.
WARM CONDITIONS CONTINUE Fine, warm weather was enjoyed in Ashburton again to-day, the wind blowing from tbe north-west. At times there were clouds overhead but bright sunshine prevailed most of the time. The maximum temperature yesterday was 08.5 degrees, and the minimum last night 52 degrees. The barometer stood at 29.33 inches this morning.
TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: — General situation: Pressure is still low in the south, but gradients are only moderate. A series of westerly depressions is crossing the South Island, while another shallow disturbance is located to the north of the Dominion. The forecast for the ea,st coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: — Moderate winds, north-easterly predominating! in coast, north-west to west elsewhere. Weather mainly fair and mild. Rain in alps and extending in,places to the foothills. Seas slight to moderate.
