VALENCIA WATCHES CONTEST.
RAIDERS DRIVEN OFF

Thousands of people watched a spectacular battle lasting half an hour over Valencia this morning. Twenty-six Italian and German bombers tried to fly over the city. Ten Government ’iplanes met the raiders on the outskirts and drove them off affcer they had dropped 250 bombs on the port area and coastal villages, killing 19 civilians.
