JEWISH POLICE SQUAD. V AMERICAN MAYOR’S ACTION;. * XFAY YORK, November IS. A I Yazi guardian” squad, composed of 13 Jewish policemen, has been created by the Mayor, Mr , 1’ iorello La Guardia, to guard the German Consulate, The squad will escort all distinguished Nazi visitors to New Aoi k. Captain Max Finkelstoin has boon placed in command. It is believed that Air La Guardia made this startling move to emphasise the reaction of New York and of Americans generally toward German racial prejudices. Questioned on the unusual personnel of the squad, the Mayor said smilingly: ,“It’s purely routine.’’
