HALL SOCIETIES.
THE FAIRTON ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Fairton Hall Society was held on Wednesday evening. There was a. goodi attendance and Air A. J. Bush presided. The report for the year showed -a very satisfactory state of affairs. The financial statement showed that the income had been £2B, expenditure £2O 2s 3d, leaving a credit balance of £7 17s Od, which was devoted to reduction of the debt which now stands at £39 3s 4d. The election of the committee resulted:—Chairman, Mr H. Chappell; secretary and treasurer, Air J. T. Oram ; committee, Messrs R. Briggs, A. J.Bonnison, A. AlcCall, J. Baird, C. J. Gallagher. Mr AV. T. Watkins was appointed auditor. Appreciation of his services was .extended to Air A. J. Bush, who did not seek re-election owing to his probability of his leaving the district.
LAURISTON COMMITTEE ELECTED. Air H. J. Orothers (chairman of the Lauriston Hall Committee) presided ovter a good attendance at the annual meeting, held recently. The report disclosed that the affairs of the committee were in thoroughly good order and the finances very sound. The hall had recently been painted.
The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Air H. J. Crothers; vice-presidents, Messrs IS. G. Lemon and R. F. Letham; secret-ary, Mr B. Orothers; treasurer, Mr A. T. Maidens; auditor, Air C. A. Fyfe; caretaker, Mr O. Dalgety; committee, Messrs T. Greenaway, J. AlcQuilken, P. A. Goodwin, T. Stapleton, G. Letham, and O. Goodwin. ‘
