SWIMMING.
THE TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL. X. MeCREA BREAKS FOUR RECORDS. Tn overcast but warm weather, the Technical High School hoys held their annual sports this afternoon. About 100 took part in the events, many of which were interesting and well-con-tested.
The outstanding swimmer of the day was X. McCrea, who won the junior championship with To points. McCrea won the five championship events, and established excellent new records in four of them. The records broken were: '25 yards junior freestyle—previous record, established by T. Dabinett in 1933, 15 2-ssecs; McCrea-’s time 13 2-5 secs. 75 yards junior freestyle—previous record, established by T. Dabinett. in 1933, Cl secs; McCrea’s time 54 1-5 secs. 25 yards junior backstroke—previous record, established by R. Childs in 1936, 24 2-osccs; McCrea’s time 17 4-ssecs. 50 yards junior freestyle—previous record, established by L. Pheloung in 1937. 40socs; McCrea’s time 33 1-osecs. The previous records were broken by 1 4-ssecs, 6 4-osecs, 6 3-5 secs, and G 4-ssecs, respectively. The runner-up in the junior championship was A. Bell, with 8 points. The senior championship was won by W. Slaven with 12 points. G. Smart was runner-up with 10 points, and H. 'Webster third with 8 points.
