INTOXICATION CHARGE
MOTOR CYCLIST IMPRISONED.

. t Violently resisting the constable who arrested him for being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motorcycle at Freeman’s Bay, a labourer. Trevor James Porter, aged 21, had to be handcuffed. , He pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's Court to-day to intoxication and resisting the constable.
The police said two constables saw Porter leave a hotel and walk towards a motor-cycle. He disappeared, but was later seen with a companion in Union Street. Ho struck one constable on the chest and resisted violently before being handcuffed. He was known to the police as a “speed fiend.” •For resisting arrest, Porter was admitted to probation for a year by Mr C. R. Orr Walker, S.M\ On the other charge he was given two weeks’ gaol with bard labour and bis licence was cancelled for L 8 months.
