MR CHAMBERLAIN’S VISIT. United Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, November 28. An official announcement of a visit bv ibe Prime Minister (Mr Chamberlain) to Rome early in the New Year lias been issued in the following terms: ‘•'At the meeting at Munich, Signor Mussolini suggested to Mr Chamberlain that ln> should at some future date pay a. visit to Rome. As the opportunity for making such a visit might occur during the forthcoming Parliamentary recess, inquiries were made as to whether a date in the first half of January would, he suitable, to Signor Mussolini.
“His Excellency lias stated that he would, in principle, welcome a visit from Mr Chamberlain and the Foreign Secretary (Lord Halifax) at that time.” The diplomatic correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says Mr Chamberlain will go to Rome on January 10 for a four-day visit.—British Official "Wireless.
