TOWN v. COUNTRY MATCH

ARRANGEMENTS in ASHBURTON

The annual Town v. Country howling match will he played at Ashburton npxt 'Saturday. Eight rinks will Ire sent 'to play Ashburton, three from Canterbury, four from Shirley and one from Sunnyside. The annual match between Canterbury and South Canterbury for the Steans Cup will he played at Christchurch on iD'eaember 3. Mr W. H. Higgins, of the Ashburton Club, will play for Canterbury.

THE ASHBURTON CLUB. PROGRESS OF COMPETITIONS. Good progress is being made with the Ashburton Club competitions and they will soon reach an interesting stage.

In the champion singles, Camleron beat McEachen, Dakers beat Coekroft, Higgins beat Clarke, Madden beat P. Dunn, Horsburgh beat O. Cowans, and Tulloch beat McElhinnev.

Colts Singles—H. Gowans beat K. Robinson, and Iv. Robinson beat C. E. Challis.

Champion Pairs —First Life: MeElhinney and AVoods (s) beat Porter and Coekroft (s); Tarhotton and Milsom (s) beat Mitchell and Sawle (s); Thomas and Tulloch (s) beat Edmiston and McEachen l(s): Clarke and Hovshurgh (s) beat Dakers and Cowan (s). Second Life: Guthrie and Madden (s) beat Clarke and Horsburgh (s); Dunn and Cameron (s) beat Watt and Dunlop (s). _ Handicap Pail's (One Life) —Edmiston and Mactier (s) beat Bowman and Porter (s) ; Finn and Oliver (s) beat Robinson and Cowan (s). On Saturday, December 10, the Ashburton Sub-Centre will play Ellesmere Sub-Centre at Leeston and Ashburton Club will be represented by two rinks.
