ATTACK ON CANTON.
CHINESE FIGHTING STRONGLY.
CHUNGKING, November 22
The Chinese Foreign Ministry claims that the Japanese have withdrawn south, of Yocliow. with heavy losses. Their western push has been checked. It is reported that 30,000 Japanese from Amoy are reinforcing Canton, where the Chinese are strongly fighting back.
The Chinese stubbornly defended Shansi.
It is estimated that 5000 Japanese have been killed and 10,000 wounded in the last fortnight*
