METHODIST CHURCH.

NEW BUILDING AT WAKANUI. TO BE OPENED TO-MORROW. Built at a cost of £9OO, and designed to accommodate 80 people, the new Methodist Church at Wakanui will be officially opened at 2.30 o’clock to-mor-row afternoon. Replacing the structure which was in use for many years, the new church is an attractive "piece of architecture, and the architect was Mr W. Thomas, of Ashburton. The building is of brick, and there is a small porch at the main door. The roofing has been attractively carried out in cedar shingles. The opening service will he conducted by the Rev. Angus- Mcßean (Superintendent of the Ashburton Methodist Circuit and President-elect of the Methodist Conference of NVw Zealand). 'Other speakers will be the Rev. AY. W. Avery (AYillowby), the Rev. S. J. AYebb (Wakanui), Mr F. Frnmpton (treasurer o,f the Circuit), Mr H. J. Crothers (County Chairman), and Mr AY. G. Gallagher (chairman of the Ashburton Hospital Board). The key wi|l he turned in the door by Mrs F. Frampton.

A- service will lie held in the church and Miss Gladys Butterick will unveil a memorial window to her grandparents Mr and Mrs Butterick and Mr and Airs Trevurza. Afterwards tea will he served in the grounds.
