THE ADVENTURES OF MICHAEL

To Michael, gardening hard one morn, Comes Mervyn, looking most forlorn. “Oh, Mike,” he wails, “I’m out of work! Give me a job; I will not shirk.'

“All right,” says Mike, “here, take this racquet And chase each butterfly and whack it!” White butterflies escape, but flowers Are whacked instead! And Michael glowers!

“Here, stop!” he roars, “don’t hit and miss! Now, just watch me, and hit like this!” —Mike brings his racquet crashing round, Then hears a most peculiar sound!

And up leaps Celia! On her horn Had stopped that butterfly forlorn! She lectures Mike Indignantly, While Mervyn Mouse laughs loud with glee.
