THE WEATHER.
A FAIR WEEK-END. Although a brisk north-east wind blew in Ashburton yesterday, the sun shone "brightly for time greater part of the day and conditions were, fairly favourable. The maximum temperature was 63 degrees compared with 61 on Saturday. The minimunis for the two days were 48.0 degrees and 48.1 degrees respectively. The sky was overcast this morning, but conditions were comparatively mild. The barometer stood at 29.92 inches ns against 30.16 inches yesterday. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. ? (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— An extensive anti-cyclone is centred to the east of the Dominion, hut conditions are disturbed over the Tasman Sea, and pressure has fallen over South-Eastern Australia. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: Light to fresh north-easterly to northerly winds predominating. Weather mainly fair to cloudy and mild. Seas slight.
