The “Daily Telegraph” says that Mr Chamberlain not only wishes to let France return Britain’s hospitality, but also to discuss with French Ministers proposals for appeasement before taking definite steps. “The Times” says that Franco is as desirous as Britain to reach an understanding with Italy and Germany. It is believed the - policy pursued by successive French Governments toward Germany since the signing of »the Treaty of Versailles lias been radically revised, if not ended.
