The report of the Theological Hall Committee provided the principal subject for debate l\v the Presbyterian Assembly this morning. , , . A motion 1 to agree to the nomination of Professors for the Theological Hall by a commission, such nominations to be confirmed by the Assembly, was defeated. Dr. Salmond, speaking against the motion, moved, an amendment that a special committee be set up to inquire what was the practice in other Presbyterian churches, bringing down its recommendation by the next Assembly.
