SETTLING MARITAL DIFFERENCES. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 1. The suggestion that an appeal court should be set up to deal .with, marital differences, with the object of minimising divorce, was supported by the New Zealand Baptist Assembly at Wellington to-day. The following resolution was adopted: “That this assembly of the Baptist Union of New Zealand, believing that if there was a. court of conciliation and arbitration for married people who find themselves in misunderstandings and difficulties, it'would serve the best interests of the welfare of this Dominion, and he effective in preventing divorce, urges the Government to. take into favourable consideration the creation of such courts or committees, to which application for assistance may he made.” It was also decided to forward copies of the resolution to tl»e Prime Minister and the Minister for Justice.
