WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

HINDS BRANCH MEETING. The president (Mrs S. McKeage; presided at the monthly meeting of the Hinds Women’s Institute held in the hall. There was a fair attendance. The motto for the month was “Keep your face toward the sunshine and the shadows Will fall behind you.” A resolution of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mrs J. Hickey k was carried in silence. It was decided that members give a donation toward the Makogai Leper Fund. An invitation was jreceived 1 to attend the Maronan flower show. A most interesting demonstration on spring cleaning and loose covers was given by Miss Robbins, AXLE, tutor. The competitions resulted: Spring flowers: Mrs R. Tarbotton 1, Miss R. Frampton 2, Mrs Tarbotton 3, Mrs J. Lennie 4. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames S. McKeage, H. Dellow ond R. Tarbotton. *
