' • : : v.' • An inquest will ho opened this evening for evidence of identification. YOUNG MAN REMANDED FOR A WEEK. * ATTEMPTED MURDER, CHARGE; NAPIER, October 3. Colin Herbert Hercock. aged 21, a grocer’s assistant, of Waipawa, appearer in the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon charged with the attempted murder of Mrs Isabella Annie Aves, aged 51. He was remanded for a week.
It is reported that Mrs Aves, who is lying in the Napier Hospital in a critical condition, was wounded with a bullet at her home in Ferguson Avenue, Westshore, last night. “The injured woman, who has been operated on, is now in a critical condition,” said Inspector D. Cameron this afternoon.
