Congratulations on the high standard of the display and the splendid cooperation of town and country organisations to make tlile show so successful were extended to Women’s Institute and divisions of the Farmers’ Unimi of the Ashburton County, by Mr D. J. Shea (General Manager of the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company) who presented the special prizes at the Ashburton District Women’s Institute annual flower show yesterday. Mrs D. A. Morgan (president of the Ashburton District Institute) introduced Mr Shea and Mesdames F. Curtis and F. Johnson also spoke. Special awards were made as follows : , Canterbury Frozen Meat Company s trophies for best bays—Mayfield Women's Institute and Seafield Women’s Division. Lilian Chambers Memorial Cup for most points in. handicraft, Mrs P .J. Andrew! . Curtis Cup for most entries m tlie show, Mrs G. M. Breeze (72 entries).
