Nash, who addressed a packed meeting of 10CO electors in the town hall last evening. “We want our Mayor,” was heard from a number of places when the chairman (the Hon. Duncan, of Te Awamutu) rose to introduce the Alinister. It was a long time before the noise subsided sufficiently for Mr Duncan to he heard. Two members of the Cambridge Borough Council sought permission to make a statement regarding til © AVaikato Labour Executive’s intimation to the Mayor (Mr Edgar James) that they had no confidence in his impartiality as chairman and the last-minute withdrawal of the invitation extended 10 days ago to act as chairman at Air Nash’s meeting. Permission, however, was refused. Air Nash stated they had the right to choose their own chairman. The Alinister addressed the meeting at length on the guaranteed price, saying that farmers were better off this year than they were 10 years ago. Costs, he claimed, were in favour of the fanner. A vote of thanks and confidence was declared carried amid general uproar.
