THE RESERVE BANK. THE WEEKLY STATEMENT. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, September 29. A Gazette issued to-night contains the following statement of the assets and liabilities of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand as at the close of business on September 2G:—

GRAIN AND PRODUCE. CHRISTCHURCH MARKETS. CHRISTCHURCH'; This Day. Odd lots of seed wheat are still going out from city stores, but most farmers will have completed sowing Tiiscan and Cross-seven by the end of this week. The demand for seed barley and peas continues, and the North Island inquiry for oats is a little stronger. There is no change in prices. Following are quotations to farmers on trucks at country stations, sacks extra unless otherwise stated:— Milling Wheat —September delivery: Tuscan 5s lid; Hunters 6s Id; Pearl 6s 3d (all f.0.b.). Fowl Wheat—F.o.b., 5s lOd. Oats—Cartons, to 2s 9d (A grade), 2s 6d to 3s 3d (lower grade); Algerians, 2s 6d to 3s 3d; Duns, 3s to 3s 6d (according to quality). Ryegrass—Perennial, 3s 9d to 4s 6d; Italian} 2s 9d to 3s 3d. Cocksfoot—7d to 9d. Cowgrass—7d to 9d. White Clover—Bd to lOd. Chaff—£4 10s (according to quality). Partridge Peas—No. 1 quality, os; f.a.q., 5s to 5s 6d; under-grade, 3s 6d. Flour—£l3 15s 6d, in 2001 b sacks. Bran—£4 15s to £5 5s (local price).Pollard—£6 5s to £6 10s (local price). Potatoes—£2 to £2 ss.

SYDNEY PRODUCE MARKETS. The wheat market is steady, hut trading is quiet. Silo grain is quoted to 3s 3d, and bagged to 3s 6d. Other quotations: Flour—£B 10s. Bran and Pollard—£s 10s. Potatoes—Tasmanian £ls 10s, others £l3 10s. Onions—Brown £ls. Maize—Yellow 4s sd, white 4s 7d. THE SHARE MARKET. The following sales were made on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday : LISTED' STOCKS'.

SYDNEY WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, September 29. At to-day’s wool sales, competition was well maintained from Yorkshire, and, fair snp]>ort came from the Continent and Japan. Prices were firm occasionally in sellers’ favour. Greasy merino realised to 17-id. The offering consisted of 13,770 bales, of which 12,430 were sold at auction and 9So privately.
