BOWLING.

WOMEN'S SECTION. FORMATION AT ALLENTON. A women’s bowling section of the Allenton Sports Club was formed at a meeting of those interested yesterday, when Mr E. C. Bathurst (president of the club) presided. Mr E. S. Chambers (captain of the men’s howling section) was also present. It was said that the section would begin with seven players. The following were elected to the committee: 'Mesdames F. Mitchell (capt), W. Dickinson (secretary), A. A. Clark, A. Cates, and T. J. Cameron. A letter was received from Mrs Hunt (president of the South Canterbury Women’s .Bowling Association) wishing the women’s section success. The opening day was arranged for October 19, when it is expected that a number of T/imaru players will he present. Mr M. P. Cooke entertained the members to afternoon tea.
