AUSTRALIANS AT DETROIT. NEW YORK, September 26. In exhibition tennis matches at Detroit, J. Bromwich (Australia) heat J. D. Budge, 7-5, 6-3, and G. Mako (U.S.A.) beat H. Hopman (Australia), 6-2, 6-2. Bromwich and Hopman heat Budge and Mako, 7-5, 6-3. THE CLUB. The annual meeting of the Springburn Tennis Club was adjourned owing to most of the officers being absent through illness. The president (Air J. Af. Bruce) presided at a short sitting, and it was decided that the adjourned meeting be held at the earliest possible date. It was agreed that play start immediately. Complaint was received of school children cycling on the court. The matter of a second court was left to the adjourned meeting.
