WOMEN’S DIVISION.

MITCHAM-ROKEBY BRANCH The September meeting of the Mitcham-Rokteby Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held at Mrs Copland’s residence. The president (Mrs Copland) presided. Mrs Penney reported ' having attended the Lyndhurst Institute birthday party. Final arrangements were mad© for the bay competition to be held in Ashburton to-morrow. The competitions resulted: Bloom, Mesdames Wilkinson and J. iDoig, senr. (equal) 1, Mrs Penney and Miss V. Penney (equal) 2, Mesdames James Doig and Hampton (equal) 3. Bacon, Mrs Penney 1, Mrs Hampton 2, Mrs Copland 3. Eggs, Mrs Copland 1, Mrs Hampton 2, Mrs J. Doig, sen. 3. Cushion, Mrs Ziegler 1, Mrs J. Doig senr. 2. Men’s sox, Mrs D. Campbell. Mrs Copland, was hostess and was thanked for the use of her home.
